VIP Reykjavik Walking Tour
Tour Description
Get a practical introduction to Iceland’s history and culture on this small-group walking tour. Highlights include expert local recommendations for the city’s best museums and bars, an intimate group setting (averaging 6–8 people), and the chance to answer any questions about your stay. You can also choose to conclude your walk with a traditional Icelandic meal, ranging from the famous local hot dog to a platter of unique regional delicacies like smoked puffin and minke whale.
This walking tour is designed to provide a concise overview of Iceland’s history while helping you navigate Reykjavík like a local. Whether you are starting your trip or finishing your journey, the walk offers a foundation for understanding the city’s layout and culture. Your guide will provide factual insights and practical advice on where to eat, drink, and visit during your stay.
To ensure a personalized experience, we limit our VIP tour to approximately 12 participants, though group sizes typically average between 6 and 8 people. Please note that tours are subject to a minimum number of participants; if this is not met, you will be notified of a cancellation at least 24 hours in advance.
A unique feature of this tour is the Optional Food Extras. We have partnered with several downtown restaurants to offer our guests a discounted meal at the end of the walk. To receive this discount, the meal must be booked in advance. Each option is a specialty of a different local establishment:
- Icelandic Hot Dog: The city’s most famous quick meal (contains gluten).
- Traditional Lamb Soup: A classic, warming dish that has been a staple for generations.
- Arctic Charr or Salmon: Fresh, pan-fried fish (available for weekday lunch; may contain nuts).
- Vegan Selection: Locally grown soup and dahl.
- The Icelandic Platter: A small sample of traditional but "controversial" meats, including horse carpaccio, smoked puffin, and minke whale (suitable for sharing).
The tour concludes by dropping you off at your chosen restaurant, leaving you well-prepared to enjoy the rest of your time in the capital.
