Get ready for some adrenaline rush, as we go on one of the most exciting adventures ever – to explore the wild Icelandic Glaciers on Snowmobiles! During this amazing tour, we will drive through the wildest places on the largest glacier in Iceland – Vatnajökull!

Tour Description

We will meet at Flatey – a dairy farm located 38km west of Höfn.  While at the base camp, we will prepare you for the tour – we will provide overalls and helmets. Before starting the unforgettable drive up on the glacier, we will demonstrate how to use the snowmobiles, and have a quick safety talk about what to do; and about what not to do on a glacier. Snowmobiles are easy to operate, therefore it does not matter whether you have driven one before.  Once everyone is ready, we will take off to an exciting adventure – to experience phenomenal views over a mighty glacier and its snow- and ice-covered surface. Half way through the tour, we will stop in an extremely beautiful and peaceful area, where we will be able to take some photos. If the weather is nice, we will be able to see the most breathtaking views – the Icelandic highlands.

Solo rider

The standard version of our snowmobile tour has two persons riding together on a snowmobile. If you would prefer to ride alone you can choose the solo rider option.

However, if you are travelling solo or in a group of odd numbers 1, 3, 5, etc., you need to book at least one solo rider, as we do not pair you with another solo traveler.

When choosing the solo rider option you would always have to combine that with an adult ticket. As an example, if there’s a booking for 3 adults you would have to book 3 adult tickets + 1 solo rider.

Cancellation policy

✓ All-day tours can be cancelled up to 24 hours from the departure time with the full price refunded by sending an email to [email protected] All cancellations requested less than 24 hours from the departure time are non-refundable.
✓ In the case of cancellation of the tour by the operator because of extreme weather, road conditions, or other factors, we will assist you with rebooking to another date or booking other activities when possible or provide a full refund.
✓ The 24 hour policy “applies to extras as well (rental Hiking Boots, Waterproof Jacket & Waterproof Pants).

  • Please note that the snowmobile tours are available from March till October
  • A valid driving license is required.
  • Minimum of 2 participants per booking
  • Children younger than 6 are not allowed to join the tour
  • The standard version of the snowmobile tour has two persons riding together on a snowmobile. If you prefer to ride alone you can choose the solo rider option.
  • If you are traveling alone, you will have the snowmobile just for yourself.
  • Transfer to the base camp is not included in the price.
