Snowmobile Tour – Kverkfjöll Volcano on Vatnajökull Glacier

Overview

Experience something out of the ordinary – take a snowmobile ride on the Kverkfjöll volcano. This tour is definitely for those who want to experience Iceland to the fullest! 

Kverkfjöll volcano last erupted around 1300 years ago, however, is still considered to be an active volcano. The volcano is hiding below a glacier, making it impossible to reach without proper glacier gear.

Tour Description

We will meet at Flatey – a dairy farm located 38km west of Höfn. 

We will then drive to our base camp, where we will put on overalls and helmets, to make sure we keep warm throughout the whole tour.

After a safety talk, we will get onto our extremely fast snowmobiles, and start our unforgettable journey to the volcano. Expect to see the world, where steaming hot springs appear in the middle of a glacier!

Although snowmobiles are easy to use, the terrain is considered to be quite difficult. Therefore this tour is not for beginners or first-time drivers.
