Glacier Snowmobile & Secret Lagoon
Tour Description
Experience two of Iceland’s most popular activities on this day trip from Reykjavík. The tour features a high-speed snowmobile ride across the vast snowfields of Langjökull, Europe’s second-largest glacier, offering a unique look at the Arctic wilderness. Afterward, you will visit the Secret Lagoon in Flúðir, a historic natural hot spring where you can soak in 38-40°C (100-104°F) geothermal water. The trip also includes a visit to the Geysir Hot Spring Area, home to boiling mud pools and active geyser
This combined tour offers a practical way to experience both adventure and relaxation within the Golden Circle region. The day begins with a pickup from your designated location in Reykjavík. Our first stop is the Geysir geothermal area, where you can observe the raw power of Icelandic nature through bubbling mud pits and the Strokkur geyser, which erupts every few minutes.
From there, we travel toward the Highlands to reach Langjökull Glacier. Upon arrival at the base camp, you will be provided with necessary safety gear, including a helmet and a warm suit. Under the guidance of professional instructors, you will drive a snowmobile across the glacier's surface. This activity allows you to see the immense scale of the ice cap, which remains frozen throughout the year.
The final portion of the tour is dedicated to recovery at the Secret Lagoon in the village of Flúðir. Unlike modern swimming pools, this lagoon is the oldest natural pool in Iceland and has been preserved in its traditional state. The water is naturally replaced by nearby geothermal vents, ensuring it stays clean and warm even in freezing weather. The facility includes modern changing rooms, showers, and a small bar for snacks.
During the winter months, if the sky is clear, it is often possible to see the Northern Lights while relaxing in the water. This tour provides a balanced itinerary, covering significant distances comfortably in a single day while allowing you to learn about Iceland's volcanic geology and renewable energy sources.
