The Golden Circle

Activity: We will go to hunt for Northern Lights!

Join us for a wonderful day trip to see Iceland's most famous sights, known as the Golden Circle.

1

Thingvellir National Park

We start at Thingvellir National Park, a truly special place. Here, you can stand in a valley where two of the Earth's main land plates are slowly moving apart. This park is not only a natural wonder but also a historic spot, as it's where Iceland's first parliament was founded hundreds of years ago. The area is filled with beautiful mountains and volcanic fields, giving you the perfect start to your adventure.

2

Geysir

Next, we visit the Haukadalur Geothermal Area, a lively valley full of hot springs. Get your camera ready for the famous Strokkur geyser, which erupts and shoots hot water high into the air every few minutes. It's an amazing sight you won't want to miss. You will also see the Great Geysir, the first geyser ever named, which gave its name to all geysers around the world. This stop shows you the powerful and wild energy of Iceland's nature up close.

3

Gullfoss

Our last stop on the Golden Circle is the beautiful Gullfoss, or "Golden Waterfall." You will feel the power of the water as a big glacial river rushes down two levels into a deep canyon. It's a truly spectacular view and a great way to end the main part of the tour.

Horseback riding

If you chose to add on the extra activity, your day will finish with a peaceful horseback riding tour. You’ll get to ride a gentle Icelandic horse through the quiet countryside, a perfect and relaxing end to a day full of incredible sights.
***Please note: not suitable for people over 120 kgs or people in bad shape.

As the day ends, you’ll have the opportunity for a nighttime adventure. If the weather allows, you will get to search for the breathtaking Northern Lights in the clear, starry sky. Our hotel for the night is located far from city lights, giving you the best chance to see this incredible natural phenomenon. If the lights don’t appear, don't worry, you still have several more nights to try to catch them!

South Coast & Glacier Hike

Activity: We will hike on a glacier!

On your second day, you will journey along the dramatic South Coast, a region defined by its stunning waterfalls and powerful volcanic landscapes.

1

Seljalandsfoss

Our first stop is Seljalandsfoss, a unique waterfall that allows you to walk behind its cascading curtain of water for a truly magical experience.

2

Skógafoss

We then move on to Skógafoss, one of Iceland's largest and most beautiful waterfalls. You can climb the stairs to a viewpoint for a spectacular bird’s-eye view, or simply admire its incredible power from below.

3

Glacier Hike on Sólheimajökull

The adventure continues as we head to the glaciers that define this region. Prepare for a thrilling Glacier Hike on Sólheimajökull, an outlet glacier of the mighty Mýrdalsjökull. A certified glacier guide will provide all the necessary safety equipment, including crampons and an ice axe, and lead you on a walk across the stunning ice formations.

4

After your hike, we visit the iconic Reynisfjara, the famous Black Sand Beach, known for its powerful waves and dramatic basalt columns rising from the sea.

Situated near magnificent coastal cliffs and a wide black sand beach, Vík is a beautiful and peaceful place to unwind. You will spend the night at your accommodation near Vík, ready for the next day's adventures.

In winter (October to April), get ready for the highlight of the day: an extraordinary Ice Cave tour. We will travel to the glacier in a specially adapted Super Jeep, a thrilling experience in itself. With a certified glacier guide, you will venture inside a naturally formed ice cave to witness its breathtaking beauty. These incredible caves, often displaying stunning blue ice and layers of volcanic ash, are a must-see for anyone visiting Iceland in winter.

Please note that the specific ice cave we visit depends on the season and daily conditions to ensure your safety and the best possible experience.

We will spend the night in a hotel nearby, surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the East, leaving you with lasting memories of Iceland's glacial wonders.

Exploring The East Fjords

Activity: Hot springs

On your fourth day, you will journey through the captivating East Fjords, a region of dramatic landscapes and peaceful fishing villages. This is a special part of Iceland, offering a chance to spot wild reindeer roaming the high mountain ridges. You'll travel along scenic coastal roads with views of the magnificent Vatnajökull glacier in the west, and get a sense of the rich Icelandic history tied to its coastal communities. This quiet and beautiful region offers a serene contrast to the more rugged adventures of previous days.

Lake Lagarfljót

As you travel through the East Fjords, you'll pass by Lake Lagarfljót, a long and narrow lake shrouded in local folklore. Keep an eye out for the legendary Lagarfljótsormurinn, a mythical worm-like creature said to live in its depths—Iceland's very own version of the Loch Ness Monster! This fascinating story adds a touch of mystery to the stunning scenery as you continue your journey.

Vök Baths

Your day culminates with an opportunity to relax and immerse yourself in Iceland's geothermal nature at the optional Vök Baths. Located on a beautiful lake, Vök Baths offers floating geothermal pools and a tranquil spa experience, a perfect way to unwind before heading to your accommodation in the East Iceland area. 1

Námaskarð Pass

We will then visit the nearby Námaskarð Pass, a high-temperature geothermal area where you will witness the raw power of the earth. Here, the landscape is streaked with vibrant orange and red minerals, with bubbling mud pools and steaming fumaroles creating an unforgettable, otherworldly scene.

2

Dimmuborgir

Next, we explore a landscape straight out of Icelandic folklore at Dimmuborgir. This captivating lava field is home to a labyrinth of towering, peculiarly shaped lava pillars that local legends say resemble trolls and elves.

3

Goðafoss

We will then journey to one of the country’s most spectacular waterfalls, Goðafoss. Known as the "waterfall of the gods," it holds a significant place in Iceland's history, believed to be the site where ancient idols were thrown, symbolizing the nation's conversion to Christianity.

Akureyri

Our day concludes in Akureyri, the vibrant "Capital of the North." You will have the entire evening to explore the city's charming downtown and enjoy its lively atmosphere. As night falls, remember to look up at the dark northern skies for a chance to witness the spectacular Northern Lights, a perfect end to an incredible day of natural and historical discovery.

On your final day, you will explore the historical and geological wonders of West Iceland.

1

Next, we visit Reykholt, a site of significant historical importance as the home of medieval scholar and chieftain Snorri Sturluson, a key figure in Icelandic history.

3

Hraunfossar and Barnafoss

Your adventure continues to two very unique and beautiful waterfalls. The first is Hraunfossar, a truly special sight where countless streams of water cascade directly out of the Hallmundarhraun lava field, creating a series of falls that seem to magically appear from beneath the earth. Just a short walk away is Barnafoss, a brightly colored blue stream that rushes through a narrow ravine with impressive force. These two waterfalls offer a stunning contrast in both color and power.

4

Víðgelmir Lava Cave

As a final thrilling option, you can add an optional extra tour to the Víðgelmir Lava Cave, one of the largest lava tubes in Iceland. Venture into this underground world to explore a path of ancient lava that was created thousands of years ago.
