This 6-day Ring Road tour is a practical way to see the most famous natural sites in Iceland without the stress of driving. The journey begins in Reykjavík and heads to the Golden Circle. Here, you will see where the Earth’s tectonic plates pull apart at Þingvellir, watch the Strokkur geyser erupt, and view the massive Gullfoss waterfall.
As we travel along the South Coast, the landscape changes to lush farmlands and rugged cliffs. You will see iconic waterfalls and the Reynisfjara beach, known for its dark volcanic sand and basalt rock columns. A major stop is the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, located about 5 hours from the capital, where you can see large icebergs floating toward the ocean.
The tour then moves through the remote East Fjords, a region of steep mountains and small fishing villages, before reaching North Iceland. In the Lake Mývatn area, you will explore the Dimmuborgir lava formations, which were created by volcanic activity thousands of years ago. The trip ends in Akureyri, the largest town in the north.
To make the most of your time, several activities are included, such as a glacier hike, an ice cave visit, and a whale watching boat tour. For those wanting more, optional extras like horseback riding or thermal bath visits can be added during the booking process. This tour is designed for travelers who want a factual and organized introduction to Iceland's geography, ensuring you see the highlights of the island in less than a week.
