Kirkjufell “The Arrowhead Mountain”
Location: Snæfellsnes
The Trolls love the Snæfellsnes peninsula for a good reason, it′s full of impressive cliffs and breathtaking sights of glaciers and mountains. One such mountain on the northern coast of Snæfellsnes peninsula is Kirkjufell or, as it name translates, “Church mountain”. In the show it is known as Arrowhead mountain and it appears in episode 5 of season 6 when the heroes go north of the wall and episode 6 of season seven when the children of the forest created the first White Walker.
It is now the most photographed mountain of Iceland for its peculiar shape and appearance on Game of Thrones. You can visit Kirkjufell or “the Arrowhead mountain” with Trolls on our full-day tour on a minibus to the Snæfellsnes peninsula (here) where you will also explore the other natural wonders of Snæfellsnes, such as Arnarstapi, Lóndrangar and Djúpalónssandur.
Skaftafell and Vatnajökull Glacier Outlets
Location: Skaftafell Glacier
Vatnajökull is the biggest glacier in Iceland and in Europe. One of its outlet glaciers is Svínafellsjökull which has been presented in Game of Thrones in season 2 and 3, in the scenes that go beyond the wall. Svínafellsjökull is very easily accessible from the Ring Road and from Skaftafell National Park.
No glacier tour operator in Iceland is going to Svínafellsjökull currently. However, we do conduct glacier hiking, ice caving, and ice climbing tours in the Skaftafell area and other outlet glaciers of Vatnajökull such as Falljökull and Skaftafellsjökull. You can check a 3-hour hike in Skaftafell (here) or our blue ice cave and glacier walk (here).
Explore the unique ice formations of Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier, on a guided walk. This tour offers a direct experience with a constantly changing landscape. You will see deep crevasses, vertical shafts known as moulins, and potentially an ice cave. Your guide will also point out rare features like glacier mice, a type of moss found on the ice. This hike provides an opportunity to witness the immense scale of the glacier and its uniquely carved landscapes up close.
Join a guided glacier hike on Falljökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull National Park. The tour begins at our comfortable meeting point in Hof, located very close to the glacier. Our indoor facility is cozy and offers free parking, which allows you to avoid the parking fees charged at the Skaftafell Visitor Centre. Please arrive 20 minutes before departure to meet your highly qualified English glacier guide. All essential safety gear is provided, including a helmet, crampons, harness, and ice axe.
After a short ride on the "Tröll Bus," you will walk a short distance to the edge of the glacier. Your guide will demonstrate how to use the equipment and how to safely walk on the ice. During the walk, you'll observe how the receding ice has shaped the surrounding landscape, noting visible marks on the bedrock and a lagoon formed by meltwater.
The tour guarantees 1 hour and 30 minutes on the ice, with an additional 10-minute shuttle ride each way. The remaining time is allocated for a safety briefing and a 20-minute walk on a gravel path to the glacier tongue. Your guide will provide information about the glacier's geology and its impact on the Icelandic environment. This tour is designed to be an educational experience, offering a factual look at a natural phenomenon.
This hike is suitable for most individuals with a reasonable fitness level. Participants should wear warm, layered clothing and sturdy footwear. After returning to the meeting point, enjoy a complimentary hot drink (coffee/hot chocolate) and a candy bar.

Thingvellir and Entrance to the Erie
Location: Thingvellir National Park
Thingvellir is not only known for its natural beauty, being the former site of the Althing, Iceland′s parliament and unique geographical site; it′s also a site for filming scenes from Game of Thrones. In season 1 it can be seen as the narrow path to the Erie, where Littlefinger and Sansa Stark arrive there and also when Catelyn Stark visits her sister.
The most popular tour to visit Þingvellir and the entrance to the Erie is the Golden Circle tour with the Trolls (here). To add something amazing to that experience we recommend Snorkeling in Silfra (here) as well which is a fissure with some of the clearest water in the world.
Come on an unforgettable tour with a small group to explore the famous Golden Circle. We visit the famous Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir, and Snorkeling between continents at Silfra Fissure in the world's clearest waters.
Snorkeling in Silfra is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You’ll find yourself swimming between tectonic plates, floating in pure, filtered glacier water. Tick this ultimate tour with breathtaking underwater views in the world´s clearest waters off your bucket list. You'll receive GoPro underwater photos after your tour for free.
Information about Silfra
Earth is divided with underground tectonic plates. Iceland is situated right in the middle of the two of them – North American and Eurasian Tectonic Plates. Silfra Fissure is one of the places in Iceland where you can see where the tectonic plates have slowly been separating – yet not on land, but under water.
In this magical place, the water is considered to be one of the cleanest waters in the world, with a visibility of more than 100 meters. This incredibly clean water comes from the melted ice of Langjökull glacier.
Join us on an adventure in Silfra – the only place in the world where you can snorkel in the middle of two tectonic plates.
During the activity, you will be swimming between two tectonic plates. Your guide will eventually send you all the GoPro photos after the tour.
* Silfra gets very busy in summer. That's why we recommend booking our earliest morning or late afternoon tours.
Reynisfjara or “The Beach at Eastwatch”
Location: South Coast
Reynisfjara is the most famous black sand beach in Iceland. There you can see black volcanic sand as far as the eye can see and marvel at some unique basalt columns in the cliffs nearby. This picturesque beach is featured in season 7 as the beach at Eastwatch by the sea, where the men in the night’s watch are guarding the wall.
This amazing beach is part of the Troll tour that explores the South Coast and also offers a glacier hike on Sólheimajökull, click here!
Dyrhólaey, “The Island in Eastwatch” by the sea
Location: South Coast
Dyrhólaey is a small volcanic mountain which takes its name from its peculiar hole in the rock, formed over the years by the tides of the ocean. This makes for spectacular sightseeing and an interesting walk. It can be seen in season 7, in the episodes that show Eastwatch by the sea.
But, fear not, Dyrhólaey is an extra stop on our tours exploring the South Coast, so you can ask our Troll guides to stop there!
