As you venture from Reykjavík, your path leads you along the majestic Mount Esja, which offers a panoramic view of the entire city. Soon, you will find yourself immersed in the scenic embrace of Hvalfjörður (whale fjord), followed by the enchanting Borgarfjörður.

Explore the spectacular Viðgelmir Lava Cave, one of the largest lava tubes in the world, on an accessible and comfortable guided tour in West Iceland. As the day comes to an end, you'll enjoy a peaceful night's stay at Hotel Borgarnes (depending on the route).

Borgarnes are captivating towns characterised by colourful houses that line the coast, creating a postcard-worthy scene.

Before arriving at our hotel, your guide will let you know the chances of seeing the Aurora tonight, he will also provide you with some forecast updates, and if the conditions are favourable, he will suggest places near the hotel to view the Northern Lights! The hotel we will be staying at is located far away from light pollution, which increases the chances of seeing them.

Your journey will start from the hotel between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, after you've enjoyed breakfast. Your guide will provide you with a more accurate departure time and plan the night before."

Prepare to embark on an enchanting expedition to the captivating Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The day begins with a visit to the awe-inspiring Gerðuberg cliffs, followed by an exploration of the pristine white sand beach of Ytri-Tunga—a rare and intriguing sight in Iceland.

Continuing along the picturesque coastline, your next destination is Arnarstapi, a place of pure magic. Surrounded by basalt ravines and caves, this coastal gem offers a mesmerizing spectacle as the mighty Atlantic Ocean crashes against dramatic cliffs.

Next on the itinerary is Djúpalónssandur, a striking black pebble beach. To reach this hidden gem, you'll navigate through a maze of free-standing lava pillars, adding a sense of adventure to your journey.

Throughout the day, the majestic Snæfellsjökull glacier watches over you, serving as a reminder of its pivotal role in Jules Verne's renowned sci-fi novel, as the entrance to the center of the Earth.

Also known as the Eye Test Photo Spot, is a picturesque white-and-red hilltop church on Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula, famed for its stunning contrast against the surrounding lava fields and the distant Snæfellsjökull glacier.

Last but certainly not least, your final stop is the iconic and most photographed mountain in Iceland, Kirkjufell. As you make your way back to Reykjavík, be prepared to be captivated by the breathtaking beauty of Hraunsfjörður, a stunning fjord adorned with the dark lava field of Berserkjahraun.

Keep your gaze fixed upon the sky during your return journey, as the magical spectacle of the northern lights may illuminate your path back to the city, leaving you with unforgettable memories of this extraordinary expedition.
